Webinar IFC-Chamber of Beirut & Mount Lebanon -Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of employees
The World Bank Group and The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon organized on November 11, 2020 a webinar on Workplace Mental Health| Inclusion, Resilience & Wellbeing during COVID 19 and after Beirut Port Blast.
In his welcome note, Mr. Rabih Sabra, Director General of the Chamber of Beirut & Mount Lebanon, greeted the close collaboration and partnership with IFC, particularly in helping reduce the gender gap and scale up women’s contribution to the growth of the Lebanese economy.

The webinar was attended by 70 HR professionals and representatives from AUB, incubators, businesses, NGOs, and women associations. From his side, Mr. Saad Sabrah IFC country manager for Lebanon, introduced the Peer Learning Platform and future Webinars under the Mashreq Gender Facility. The webinar hosted Dr. Stuart Fisher, Senior Psychologist and Head of Counselling Unit he World Bank Group as well as guest speakers from the Lebanese business market to showcase best practices in providing support to wellbeing of women in the workplace.

 

The role of employers in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of employees during COVID-19 and the Beirut Port Blast.The disproportionate impact these crises had on female employees (increasing care responsibilities, teaching young kids, opting for part-time work, increasing levels of domestic violence) And the psychosocial risks and workplace stigmas relating to Mental Health.

Successful case studies and employer best practice from the private sector in Lebanon, in creating resilient and inclusive workplaces by addressing mental health and wellbeing, thus boosting the productivity of female and male employees.
